Ground-Up New Home on Seaside Walk, Long Beach
Elan Construction Inc built this new home from the ground up on Seaside Walk, right on the sand on the Long Beach Peninsula. It is a three-level beachfront home built for salt air, sand and wind.
Architect: Ed Gulian, Gulian Design
Building on the Sand
A beachfront lot brings extra work. We planned the structure, drainage and finishes around salt exposure and tide. A crane set heavy materials, and the crew worked from scaffolding on every level of the front.
Exterior
The front has a full-height stone chimney, dark and white panels, and cantilevered balconies with glass railings. The exterior stone work was done with Wall Theory. Big window walls and sliders face the ocean. At night, built-in lighting shows off the lines of the house from the beach.
Interior
Inside, the main rooms open to the water through floor-to-ceiling glass. The kitchen has a stone-look slab island and a glass-rail stair. A wood slat ceiling and a large ring chandelier finish the living space.
